OES on the Road for a Roadie

I posted yesterday that the band is looking for a ROADIE to help us not move musical instruments around the greater Toronto area (more or less).

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to make a hot splash in the field of music and entertainment.

You can read the full post and apply at the the official site, but here's a brief summary:
  • Experience required: Basically none.
  • Duties: To help the band prepare not to perform.
  • Requirements: Being hot.
  • Remuneration: Increased hotness.
I was forced to make this move because member of the band weren't being particularly helpful, frankly. I don't mind doing the bulk of the work keeping the band organized and on track - hell, that's what I've been doing since day one - but it would be nice to have one or more enthusiastic supporters of the band with whom I'll be able to share the load. Maybe even someone to have a beer with from time to time, as the band members don't seem particularly interested in hanging out with me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining - they're a great bunch of kids, really, and they try (in their own way).

Do you have what it takes to be Toronto's hottest roadie? Let us know, and ROCK ON! - Serge

OES Hits the 100 Follower Mark

It's official. OES on twitter, tweeting under the name "hottorontoband" has now hit the hundred follower mark. Thanks to all of the great fans that have helped us achieve this hot milestone.

Hot Toronto Band Reaches 100 Followers

For those of you that haven't hit us on Twitter, c'mon and check us out. You can even follow us on your mobile phone. How freakin' hot is that!?!?

Of course, the band members aren't really aware of how much work Twitter is. Finding people to follow, replying to direct messages, coming up with exciting information to tweet about every day. They think it all happens by magic. But hey, that's a-okay - they're a great bunch of kids and you can't expect them to care too much about what their band manager is doing behind the scenes. Rock on!

By the way if you missed the post on our official site, I've laid to rest rumours that OES members have been flirting with other bands. Each and every OES musician is dedicated to not performing with OES, and only OES!

Finally, Band Photos and Pictures Up

Hottest Toronto Band BiographiesFor those of you that have been living under a rock the band descriptions and photos are now up on the official site - check out the hottest Toronto band pictures!

I know it's taken a lot longer than I had anticipated, but I don't mind telling you it was a lot of work, and a lot of pain. By and large the band members were pretty good about finding some time to sit down and talk to me so I could write out the bios (Foxy, you're the best!), but in one or two cases it was a real pain in the ass.

Far be it for me to say that Tiny needs to lay off the bottle, but just trying to touch base with the guy when he's coherent is nigh-on impossible. And Lill, I know that you're terribly popular and, like the rest of us OES'ers terribly hot, but what am I chopped liver? Hey, I shouldn't complain, they both came through in the end with some pretty good answers, and they're great kids ... really, I mean that.

And because they're young, I know they simply haven't developed the ability to appreciate the efforts of others on their behalf, and I don't hold it against them. I don't even know whether they've even checked them out, but hey, that's okay. From my perspective, it's all worth it for the sake of this great band.

Now that this is done, maybe I can make some progress on other fronts, such as arranging for us not to perform in more venues. It is summer, after all. This is the season we really don't want to be getting up there on stage.

And I won't lie to you, there is an MP3 of sorts in the works. I can't tell you anything else right now, it's all very hush hush ... even the members of the band don't know about it. But why would they show that much of an interest, right? Anyway, just wanted to give you the heads up about something that makes me excited.

Rock on OES!!!

Pictures of the Band Not Playing In Toronto

The incredible first pictures are in. Just a little taste here, but you can check out all the best of the band not being together on the hottest OES blog.

I don't even know why I have this blog. Okay, I do. I admit it's a bit of my personal sounding board for the trials and tribulations of being the band's managers. It's not that they're not great kids - they are - and it's not the I find the job tiresome or anything - because I don't, at least not the majority of the time. It's just that it's not easy keeping so many people focused on the same goal, however much we all want to succeed.

And yeah, I'll admit that sometimes I do get a little scratchy when I feel the effort I'm expending isn't being fully appreciated. Sure, everyone in the band that's literate (and that's most of them) know about the WordPress blog and the MySpace page, but did they know about this Blogger blog (that's how I feel somewhat at liberty to say what I want here). How about Flickr? How about the work selecting, cropping and thumbnailing pictures? Coming up with snappy descriptions? I'm not looking for a lot, just the occasional "thanks."

But this post is not about me, it's about the triumph of everyone in the OES organization, and I'm thrilled we were able to pull off not being together in such a stellar fashion. You're the best, guys!

Introducing OES

If you haven't heard of the hottest Toronto band, OES, then prepare for a life-changing experience. Our brand-new Hogtown ensemble is so hot we don't need to perform gigs. We don't need to issue CDs. We don't even need to play instruments. That's what makes us the hottest band in South-Western Ontario and, probably, in the world.

We're so very, very hot that this is the only information we're going to give you at this point. If we were to give you any more dirt at this point, people would stop listening to music in Toronto altogether, and spend all of their time not spinning OES albums, or attending EOS concerts. A band this explosive has to ease into the scene in order to give the rest of those hard-working musicians a chance to come up with a countering strategy. Good luck, guys and girls!

Coming soon on this blog - band member biographies, places and dates we won't be playing, and much, much more information on this electric Toronto musical experience. Stay tuned, and rock on!
